We are seeking candidates to fill the position of District 7 Representative. District 7 includes the following counties: Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton.
In order to be a district representative, one needs to live in the district and be willing to travel throughout the district and to Columbus. District representatives must be a member of their local PERI chapter, maintain communication with the other chapters in their districts, represent the PERI members in their districts as a member of the state PERI Board of Trustees, attend monthly board, committee, and training meetings in Columbus, schedule and conduct an annual meeting for their district.
The position is not as scary as it sounds, but there is a time commitment. Even if you are a brand new member of PERI and would be interested in becoming more involved, please submit your resume and a cover document via email to: email@example.com expressing why you are interested in the position and how your background would be beneficial to PERI. The deadline for submissions is September 30th, 2016 or until the position is filled.
District representatives serve on a volunteer basis, and are reimbursed for their travel including mileage, meals, and lodging if necessary. District representatives find the position very rewarding in helping PERI members, learning about the legislative process that protects our pension and benefits, and being personally involved in the oversight of our association.
