The ballots have been counted and by substantial margins, PERI members have approved changes to the PERI constitution and the election of officers who will lead the association for the next two years. PERI’s 2016 strategic plan called for a comprehensive review to determine how to simplify and modernize the governing document. The association’s Governance Committee met for several months to review possible changes before presenting them to the full board for adoption earlier this year. Of the 8,468 ballots cast, 8,183 voted for the changes or 96.6%.
PERI’s officers, all running unopposed, were elected to new terms that took effect immediately following the PERI Annual Meeting, held on October 9th. 8,389 votes were tallied and 8,247 or 98.3% supported the full slate of candidates. They included Chair – John Haught, Vice Chair – Marlene Bond, First Vice Chair – Rich Ross, Second Vice Chair – Merrill Asher and Treasurer – Tom George. Mr. George passed away unexpectedly several weeks ago and will be replaced by an individual to fill the term by a vote of the PERI Board of Trustees.
