An Important Statement on Covid-19 and a Questionnaire for all PERI Chapters

(April 29, 2020)  As we continue our journey through the Covid-19 pandemic, PERI is announcing the continued suspension of all local chapter and district activities through May 31, 2020.  PERI is trying to prepare for the time when you can resume activities and hope it will be sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, we acknowledge that for the foreseeable future, gatherings as we know them will be different.  Governor DeWine and ODH Director Dr. Amy Acton stated yesterday that as commerce begins to reopen in Ohio that one of the requirements will be for everyone to wear a mask if entering

a place of business.  We interpret this to mean that once chapter activities are reinstated by PERI, that everyone in attendance will be required to wear a mask until the all clear or change in policy is provided by the state of Ohio.  The size of future meetings will also be controlled for some time with social distancing (six feet or more) to be practiced, as well, until further notice.  We care about every PERI member and realize that the majority of our members are in the group most at risk to come down with this virus.  This leads to four questions we have for you that will help us to best determine how to reopen chapters once it is safe to do so.  Please respond to the questions by forwarding your response to your district representative and to the PERI office at:

First, is your meeting location open or will it be reopening and if so, will they still be able to accommodate your meetings?

Second, will they be practicing social distancing that will limit or reduce the number of people allowed to attend your meetings?

Third, due to new protocols adopted to keep people safe, will you need to find a new location to meet?

Fourth, are there any other considerations regarding your meeting space that we should be aware of?

Finally, if any chapter moves its meeting to a new location, it is important to notify your district representative and the PERI state office as soon as possible so that we can update the information on our website.

We appreciate you and thank you for taking the time to provide us with this important information!
