(March 31, 2020) As everyone is well aware by now, we are collectively fighting an invisible enemy in the Novel Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. We have already learned from the many doctors and public health experts on TV, radio, on the internet and in our newspapers how dangerous this can be to people our age and especially those with underlying conditions.
PERI wants to remind everyone that staying safe indoors is the best thing that we can do for now. We realize that many of you are dependent on assistance from friends and family to keep your households running and to stay well. Even with the people you trust most, it is possible that they might inadvertently be exposed to someone with the virus and not even know it. For this reason, we have been told by health officials that it is critical to practice social distancing where we do not touch or get any closer than six feet from people who may visit us and are not living in our homes. If you decide to go out for a walk, please make sure to keep your distance from anyone you may encounter along the way. If traveling to the grocery or pharmacy, consider taking advantage of special hours set aside especially for those over 60 years of age so that you are shopping with others who are trying to limit their contact with the general public as well.
Bottom line, these are difficult times, but we can resolve to remain positive with the knowledge that we are all in this together. Please know your family, at PERI, is always thinking of you and wish you and your family the very best during this stressful period. Let’s keep each other in our thoughts and prayers. Brighter days are ahead of us!
