Your annual membership funds PERI’s work to protect Ohio public employee retirees’ pensions. It also gives you exclusive access to AMBA insurance and other benefits.
From the beginning, PERI’s strength has come from its members. Our members are retired public employees and advocates who understand that a pension is a promise, and that promises are best protected together.
For over 70 years, PERI has continued to grow into a statewide network organized across 11 districts and 75 local chapters, connecting members in their own communities while speaking with one voice at the statehouse.

What Membership Level Are You?
Not sure where you fit? Most PERI members fall into one of three categories:
Annual Members — Any active employee paying into OPERS, or anyone receiving an OPERS retirement, survivor, or disability benefit. Dues are paid each year, and Annual members are automatically members of their county’s local chapter. Annual members in good standing may vote in PERI elections.
Life Members — The same eligibility as Annual members, but with dues covered by a single one-time payment: no annual renewal. Life members also hold voting rights. (Life memberships are individual and do not transfer to a surviving spouse; chapter dues are paid directly to the local chapter.)
Associate Members — Anyone who wants to support PERI’s mission but is not in the OPERS pension system. Associate membership is annual and does not include voting rights or automatic local chapter membership.
